Free Website SEO Checker

Audit any public page for technical SEO, metadata, structured data and AI crawler access. Every finding says what was checked, what we found and how to fix it.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Single-page audit
  • Open scoring rules
  • URLs not stored

Audits one public page (not the whole site): status, redirects, metadata, headings, structured data, robots.txt, sitemap and AI crawler access. The address is used only for this audit and is not stored.

What the SEO Checker Looks At

  • Technical SEO

HTTP status, redirect chain, HTTPS and the http→https redirect, noindex in meta robots and X-Robots-Tag, canonical tag, robots.txt access for Googlebot, XML sitemap, mobile viewport and language.

  • Content and metadata

Title and meta description length and duplicates, one clear H1, heading order, image alt attributes, Open Graph tags and the amount of visible text.

  • Structured data

Finds JSON-LD, flags blocks that are not valid JSON, lists the schema types and checks common key properties for Article, Organization, Product, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and more.

  • AI crawler accessibility

Reads robots.txt the way crawlers do and reports whether OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Bingbot and AI training crawlers may fetch the page.

  • Links

Counts internal and external links, flags vague link text and, on request, checks up to 20 same-site links for errors.

  • Performance (optional)

Runs Google PageSpeed Insights when it is switched on, showing the lab score and real-user Core Web Vitals with the source labelled.

How the Audit Works

  1. Our server fetches the page as a crawler would, following up to five redirects, plus the site’s robots.txt and sitemap.
  2. Your browser runs every check on that HTML. Page scripts are not run, which is also how many crawlers first see a page.
  3. Findings are sorted by status and severity, so the most important problems come first.
  4. Optional: check up to 20 same-site links, or run Google PageSpeed Insights.

What the Score Means

Each check is worth points by how much it matters: 10 for critical (such as a noindex tag or a blocked page), 6 for high, 3 for medium and 1 for low. A pass earns all its points, a warning half and an issue none. Informational findings are not scored. The score is points earned out of points possible. It is our checklist, not a Google rating, and it says nothing about how good your content is.

SEO, Indexing and AI Crawler Access Are Different Things

Indexable means nothing stops search engines from adding the page: it loads, is not marked noindex and is not blocked in robots.txt. Indexed means Google actually added it, which only Search Console can confirm.

AI crawler access means robots.txt lets crawlers like OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot fetch the page. Being cited in AI answers is something else again: it depends on your content and authority, and no technical check can promise it. Our guide to AI crawlers, robots.txt and llms.txt explains each crawler.

What It Cannot Check

  • Other pages on your site, unless you audit them one by one.
  • Whether Google has indexed the page, or where it ranks.
  • Content that only appears after JavaScript runs.
  • Backlinks, search volume or keyword difficulty.
  • Whether structured data qualifies for rich results: use Google’s Rich Results Test for that.
  • Pages behind a login, or sites that block automated requests.

How to Fix the Most Common Problems

  • Missing or long title: write a unique title under about 60 characters with the main topic first.
  • No canonical: add one pointing to the page’s preferred URL.
  • Noindex by mistake: often left over from a staging site; remove it from the template.
  • Images without alt text: describe what each image shows; use an empty alt for decoration.
  • Broken JSON-LD: a single missing comma invalidates the whole block.

Privacy and Security

  • The URL you enter goes to our server function, which fetches that page, its robots.txt and sitemap during the audit. It is not logged or saved.
  • Our server identifies itself as “WikiAI-SEOChecker” and sends no cookies or login details to the site.
  • Local, private-network and internal addresses are blocked, every redirect is re-checked, and requests are limited in time, size and number.
  • The checks run in your browser. Reports you copy or download stay on your device.
  • Google Analytics records that an audit ran and a score band, never the URL or any finding.

Website SEO Checker: FAQ

Does this check my whole website?
No. It audits one page at a time, plus the site-wide files that affect that page (robots.txt and the sitemap). To check other pages, run the audit on each one. A full-site crawl needs a crawler such as Screaming Frog or Google Search Console’s reports.
Does a high score mean my page will rank?
No. The score only says how many of our technical checks the page passes. Rankings depend on how well the content answers the search, competition and the authority of your site, none of which a technical checker can measure.
Can it tell me if Google has indexed my page?
No. It shows whether the page can be indexed (no noindex, not blocked in robots.txt, loads with a 200 status). Whether Google has actually indexed it is only shown in Google Search Console’s URL Inspection tool.
Does allowing AI crawlers get me cited in ChatGPT or Perplexity?
Not on its own. If robots.txt blocks their crawlers, they cannot fetch the page for answers. Allowing them only removes that barrier; whether an answer cites you depends on your content and many signals that no robots.txt check can measure.
Why does my result differ from other SEO tools?
Every tool uses its own checklist and scoring. Ours is shown openly on the page: each check is worth a fixed number of points by severity. Compare the individual findings rather than the scores.
Why did a page built with JavaScript show little text?
This tool reads the HTML your server sends and does not run the page’s scripts. If your content only appears after JavaScript runs, search engines have to render it too, which can be slower. Server-side rendering or static HTML avoids that.
Do you store the URLs I check?
No. The address is sent to our server function only to fetch the page, its robots.txt and sitemap during the audit, and it is not logged or saved. Analytics record that an audit ran and a score band, never the URL. See the privacy section above and our privacy notice.
