eBay listing tips

  • Most important words first

eBay’s own advice is to put the words buyers search for at the start of the title: brand, item, model, size and color. Skip filler and words like “wow” or “look”.

  • Fill in item specifics

Item specifics (brand, size, color, material) help buyers filter search results. A listing with complete specifics is easier to find than one with a long description.

  • Be honest about condition

For used items, describe wear and flaws plainly and show them in photos. Clear condition notes reduce returns and negative feedback.

  • Keep the description readable on a phone

Short paragraphs and bullet points work best. eBay does not allow active content such as JavaScript, or links that take buyers off eBay.

eBay Listing Generator: FAQ

How long can an eBay title be?
Up to 80 characters. The generator keeps your title within the limit and puts the most searched words first.
Does it write item specifics?
It turns the details you enter (brand, size, color, material, condition and more) into item specifics you can copy into eBay’s form.
Will it list the item on eBay for me?
No. It never asks for your eBay login and never publishes anything. You stay in control and paste the listing in yourself.
Can I check my profit after eBay fees?
Yes. The full Marketplace Listing Generator includes a profit calculator where you enter your own fee rates and costs.
